Somang Stairs Monorail
🚶 18 min walk · 📏 1.1 km
A monorail installed on the Somang Stairs, connecting Mangyang-ro on the hillside road up to Jungang Park-ro above. A cute two-seat cabin carries you up all 192 steps in just 6 minutes.
From the entrance of the stairs and monorail, colorful photo zones catch your eye at every turn — beautifully decorated spots that make for some of the best photo opportunities around.
At night, the lights come on for a lovely night view. If you enjoy an evening stroll, start at Somang Stairs and walk up to Jungang Park, home to the Chunghontap Memorial, for a stunning night view of the hillside road.

Yeongju-dong Oreumgil Monorail
🚶 15 min walk · 📏 750 m
An 8-seat elevator monorail installed along the steep stairway alleys of Yeongju-dong, free to ride for both hillside residents and visitors alike. At about 70 meters, it's a short ride, but more than enough to ease the climb up the steep stairs.
The monorail connects to a walking trail through nearby Minju Park, making this area a great walking course for everyday enjoyment too. Along the stairway wall next to the monorail, a gallery zone tells the story of Jung-gu's past, and you can also visit the nearby Park Gi-jong Memorial Hall for the history of Busan's railways, stories of the hillside road, and an open view over the city.
